Proper selection
1. Select ladder of proper height to reach working height.
2. IMPORTANT: These ladders are designed to support one person plus materials and tools. Max. working load: 150kg
Inspection
1. Inspect ladders upon receipt and before each use. Never use a damaged, bent, or broken ladder. All ladder parts must be in good working condition.
2. Make sure that all rivets, joints, nuts, and bults are properly tightened. Make sure that the steps and rungs are secure and the spreaders function properly.
3. Keep your ladder clean and make sure that it is free of grease, oil, mud, snow, wet paint, or other slippery materials. Keep your shoes clean and do not use shoes with leather soles.
4. Never repair missing or damaged parts temporarily.
5. Dispose ladders if they are broken, worn-out, or exposed to fire or chemical corrosion.
Proper Set-Up
1. DANGER! METAL CONDUCTS ELECTRICITY! Do not let ladders of any material come into contact with electric wires.
2. Make sure ladders are fully open, spreaders secure, and shelf in position.
3. Place ladders on a firm, level surface. Do not use on slippery surfaces. Do not place on boxes, unstable bases, or scaffolds to gain additional height. Do not place in front of a door opening.
Proper Usage
1. Do not use ladders: if you are tired or feel dizzy, if you have use alcohol or medications, or if you are physically impaired.
2. To protect children, never leave ladder set-up and unattended.
3. Always face the ladder when climbing up or down. Keep your body centred between the side rails.
4. Use both hands when climbing and maintain a firm grip.
5. Never climb a ladder from the side unless it is secured against side-way movement.
6. Do not over-reach; move ladder whenever needed.
7. Never move a ladder when someone is standing on it.
8. Do not stand, climb, or sit on ladder top, braces, or “warning section”.
9. Do not overload. Ladders are designed for one person. Do not use ladders as a platform or plank. 10. Keep ladders close to the working object and avoid pushing off to the side of the ladders.
Proper Care and Storage
1. Store ladders in a safe and dry location.
2. Secure and support ladders properly when transporting them.
3. Never store any material on a ladder.
4. Keep ladders clean.
